After having a nice meal, many of us usually like to lay on the bed and rest, maybe watch a movie or TV. However, according to the studies, this is a mistake and you should avoid doing it. Read below some of the bad habits that you should not do after you eat:
If you eat and go to sleep right after that your stomach will burn during the night, causing you bloating and discomfort. Another study from the University of Ioannina Medical School shows that the risk for stroke is lower is you wait before going to bed. That is why eat at least 2-3 hours before going to bed.
This is a really bad habit however the most common one. If you are already a smoker than at least what you can do is not smoke right after you have your meal, wait several hours because the nicotine in the cigarettes binds to the oxygen that is needed for digestion and in this way you are entering more carcinogens than normal. One cigarette after a meal is equal to smoking 10 cigarettes at once.
When we are having a shower, our blood flow is increased in order to get into our legs, hands, and body, so it becomes lower in the stomach. This slows down the process of digestion and can cause stomach pain.
4. Eat Fruit
A lot of us think that you can consume fruit whenever you want. However, that is not true. It is best to eat some fruit on an empty stomach because it needs specific enzymes for digestion and it is slowly absorbed from our organism. If you eat fruit before your meal or after it, it will stay longer in your stomach and it may rot causing you indigestion and discomfort.
5. Drink Tea
This is lowering the absorption of iron because the tannic acid included in the tea binds with the iron and protein in our food which prevents its benefits. By having a lack of iron you may experience anemia, pale skin, dizziness, weakness, and lower appetite.
So, when you eat from now on, think about these 5 points and try not to do them.
